While helping Tinybop expand its award-winning work across a growing range of products and platforms, I design educational apps that make learning feel like play.

One ecosystem, many worlds

Tinybop’s apps span two core series—The Explorer’s Library focuses on STEM-based subjects: exploring body systems in The Human Body, discovering biomes in Plants, or experimenting with wedges, wheels, screws, and levers in Simple Machines. Digital Toys takes a more open-ended, building-block approach—kids can construct and test robots in The Robot Factory, build their own video games in The Infinite Arcade, or document and reflect on their lives in Me: A Kid’s Diary.

Drawing from references including vintage library books, Tinybop developed a visual language that could hold a wide range of subjects and artistic styles while still feeling cohesive.

For every app, we collaborated with artists from around the world whose work captured a particular feeling we wanted to preserve—something a little like lightning in a bottle. We combined that perspective with Tinybop’s product vision to make each title feel distinct, delightful, slightly off-kilter, and unmistakably human, then adapted those experiences for kids across more than 40 languages.

Over time, the ecosystem expanded beyond the two series into games, AR experiments, classroom tools, new platforms, and other collaborations. Part of my role was keeping that growing world cohesive while giving each title room for its own visual language, interactions, and personality.

During my time at Tinybop, I’ve contributed across 24+ products in the ecosystem, with substantial involvement in 12—from early product definition and UI/UX through illustration, new scenes, launches, companion experiences, and platform extensions. The ecosystem continues to grow.
